The wine of Ardèche is known throughout France for its excellence, such that it qualifies for the highly regulated "Vin de Pays" label. If you are planning a trip to Ruoms and La Grand'Terre Campsite, stopping for a wine tasting at the Néovinum wine discovery centre is a great way to discover Ardèche differently!
Located along the Ardèche River, the village of Ruoms attracts many tourists each summer, drawn by its warm atmosphere and its picturesque architecture.
In addition to offering direct access to the Ardèche, the family-friendly La Grand'Terre Campsite offers all sorts of facilities: heating pools with paddling pools and slides for your children, tennis courts, hot tubs and more.
Néovinum is a wine discovery centre which is unique in Southern Ardèche. On arrival, you will be greeted by a guide specializing in wine who will introduce you to the history of wine in Ardèche and to the expertise of its winemakers. Your guide will then lead you more than 50 metres underground to a traditional wine cellar where a folkloric atmosphere reigns.
Lastly, you will be taken to the tasting room where you will be served three excellent wines made from different grape varieties. Naturally, the wine will be served with some accompaniments like fresh bread and local charcuterie.
And if you're not (yet) a connoisseur, never fear: before you taste the best wines of Ardèche, your Néovinum guide will first give you a crash course on wine tasting. In addition to a wonderfully decadent experience, your tour will also give you the chance to learn a lot about Ardèche wine and to deepen your knowledge of wine and winemaking!
