The Cévennes village of Banne is packed with attractions, starting with its castle, built in the early 16th century and largely destroyed during the French Revolution. The stables, which have remained virtually intact, are open to the public.
But the curiosity most appreciated by Bannards is certainly the mythical Païolive wood which they nickname “fairy wood”. This mysterious forest is renowned for its unique biodiversity, but above all for its enigmatic stone figures.
